“Mixed Signals” is $YN’s most emotionally layered record yet—born from the tension between desire and confusion. Inspired by traditional R&B, the songwriting blends tight phrasing with vulnerable storytelling.
The production follows a neo-soul structure with noir-styled chords, a warm bass groove, and atmospheric textures that make the track feel suspended in time. Every element—from the harmonies to the ad-libs—is crafted to echo the feeling of being pulled in different directions.

“Drug” emerged during a late-night writing session driven by emotion and atmosphere. The bassline set the tone—slow, hypnotic, and sultry—giving the record its intoxicating pull.
$YN produced the track with a noir-influenced palette: warm pads, dark undertones, soft textures, and harmonies that drift like smoke. Vocally, she leans into intimacy—close-mic’d, soft, and addictive by design.
The song captures the rush of new love: euphoric, dangerous, consuming, and impossible to shake.
